A first generation A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Up/Down, Ref. 221.021, crafted in 18k yellow gold. Its argenté dial has a gentle layering that creates subtle contrast and depth as it catches light: the uppermost surface is printed with Arabic numerals and a railway minute track, followed by a recessed central segment bearing the A. Lange & Söhne signature, and further below, two softly sunken subdials for the UP/DOWN power reserve and subsidiary seconds.

The 36mm case exhibits light natural surface oxidation — an indication that the watch has been set aside untouched for some time. This can be easily removed with wiping. Powering the watch is the manual winding calibre L942.1, with 27 jewels and beautifully showcased through the sapphire display back. Fitted with its original 18k yellow gold tang buckle. Circa 2000s.
