Cartier CPCP Tortue Monopoussoir, Ref. 2396. From Cartier’s Collection Privée Cartier Paris, this rare Tortue Monopoussoir showcases the maison’s mastery of form and elegance. Its defining highlight is, of course, the white‑and‑blue dial: finely executed guilloché detailing, an oversized Roman “XII” at twelve, a crisp blue minute track, and blued Breguet‑style hands — bold and beautiful in equal measure. Crafted in 18k white gold and measuring 34mm across, the tortoise‑inspired case — first introduced in 1912 — is gently curved, resting on the wrist with comfort and timeless elegance. Its sapphire caseback reveals the hand‑wound Calibre 045MC, a monopusher chronograph movement developed in collaboration with THA, the collective founded by Vianney Halter, Denis Flageollet, and François‑Paul Journe. This technical marvel further underscores the watch’s rarity and pedigree. Presented with its original Cartier 18k white gold deployant buckle. Circa 2000. |
