Extremely rare and highly collectible, this is a well-preserved Universal Genève Tri-Compax, Reference 881101/03. Known among collectors as an “Exotic” dial variant of the Tri-Compax models, it has an attractive and rare metallic slate grey dial with bold accents from a red chronograph hand, red month and date displays (in German), and blue minute track. Scholars have suggested that no more than 300 examples of this reference ’/03’ were produced.

Featuring three complications, it has a triple calendar, 3-register chronograph and a moonphase display, powered by hand-wound movement Calibre 281.

The overall condition of this “Exotic Tri-Compax” is exceptional. Its 36mm stainless steel case is unpolished and retains deep and clear engravings of the reference number and serial number (2’684’7XX) on the caseback, akin to its factory condition. The original Universal Genève leather strap and tang buckle are also in near-new condition. This is truly a magnificent collector’s item. Circa 1968.
